Inventory Planner - Category Food Logistics Services

Overview

In this Inventory Planner role, you ensure accurate planning and execution of inbound flows from suppliers to distribution centers and onward to stores, supporting availability, freshness, and food safety. You will collaborate with Category teams, suppliers, service providers, DCs and internal planning to convert signals into timely inventory actions. The role contributes to the Food transformation by simplifying execution and reducing handovers, driving reliable experiences for IKEA Food and its markets. You will act with precision to balance cost, quality and lead times, strengthening overall customer satisfaction.

Responsabilità

Own inbound availability for assigned products, DCs and markets

Maintain accurate inventory and inbound flow execution (orders, ERP corrections, physical-flow corrections)

Manage daily inventory corrections, inbound handling, flow bookings and deviations

Balance availability, food safety, freshness, cost, sustainability and lead-time adherence in inbound planning

Coordinate supplier and logistics-service-provider execution through confirmations, holiday planning and invoice follow-up

Handle deviations related to quality, blocked goods, shelf life, shortages and inventory accuracy with timely escalation

Improve collaboration with suppliers, service providers, DC/LSP operations and internal stakeholders

Requisiti fondamentali

Experience from supply-chain operations, inventory, supply planning, inbound logistics or DC flow

Proficiency with ERP and planning systems (e.g., Infor)

Experience using operational KPIs, inventory data and deviation follow-up; proficient with Excel and Power BI

Understanding of availability at lowest cost, freshness, quality and inventory-accuracy risks; knows when to act or escalate

Strong communication across suppliers, logistics providers and internal teams

Attention to accuracy, structure and reliable inbound flow
