Lead Design Engineer (d/f/m)

Overview

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer for Gas Turbines, you drive the design and integration of GT components and systems to improve performance and reliability. You collaborate across TAEE, NPD, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Commercial, and Quality to shape both new units and service projects. You’ll tackle feasibility, CAD modeling, drawings release, and rotodynamic analysis while advancing product development and standardization. This role offers impact from shaping turbine architectures to accelerating cycle times in a global energy technology context.

Responsabilità

Design and develop Gas Turbine products, solutions, and systems; improve existing components

Conduct feasibility studies and CAD modeling; release constructive drawings; manage part codes

Oversee turbine configuration selection and manage New Units and Service projects

Utilize Ansys, Unigraphics NX or equivalent for design work

Perform basic rotodynamic analysis and related modeling tasks

Participate in product development steps (industrialization, standardization, flow production) and turbine cycle initiatives

Requisiti fondamentali

Master's degree in Engineering/Technology with ≥3 years relevant GT experience or Bachelor's with ≥5 years

≥4 years of mechanical design experience

Proficiency with modeling tools (Unigraphics NX or equivalent)

Experience managing non-conformities with internal manufacturing and external suppliers

Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills; ability to lead small teams

Experience leading initiatives and managing multiple projects; analytical problem-solving

Excellent understanding of Gas Turbine architectures and configurations; issue resolution and design improvement

Excellent English proficiency (spoken and written); ability to relocate to Florence; EU work permit
