Mechanical Designer

Overview

In this role you will lead the mechanical design of pluggable modules for Nokia's Optical Networks portfolio. You will work within a pluggable design team to deliver coherent, manufacturable mechanical assemblies from concept through fabrication, testing and validation. You’ll collaborate with HW, Optical and Thermal teams and manufacturers to meet form factor and thermal requirements while ensuring quality documentation. This position offers exposure to a global, multi-disciplinary environment and the chance to influence products for AI-driven networks.

Responsabilità

Design mechanical assemblies from concept to fabrication and validation

Ensure form factor compliance, thermal dissipation and manufacturability

Interface with HW Designers, Optical Engineers, Thermal Simulation Engineers and manufacturers

Own test reports and physical component documentation

Coordinate across time zones with stakeholders

Contribute to pluggable module developments for telecommunications equipment

Requisiti fondamentali

MS in Mechanical Engineering

Hands-on CAD modeling experience (CREO preferred)

Fluency in English

Availability to travel across Europe and Far East Asia

Strong design development and technical detailing capabilities

Experience with mechanical design for telecommunications equipment (nice to have)

Experience in manufacturing-oriented design and verification

Cross-functional collaboration

Stakeholder communication across time zones

Problem-solving mindset
